The Tamboerskloof Katharien Syrah Rosé 2020
The bright eyed, bushy tailed and overtly feminine Katharien Rosé was named after our, equally bright eyed and bushy tailed, youngest child and only daughter.
100% Syrah, our 2020 Rosé is a pale Salmon colour. Its nose opens up with a fresh berry mix aroma evolving into melon, watermelon, pomegranate and spice. The complexity of the nose follows through to the palate of the wine. The amazing mid palate weight and great texture adds depth and is a beautiful prelude to a boundless finish.
Grapes were sorted three times before they going directly to the press. No additional skin contact occurred. Juice recovery of 550l/ton was achieved to ensure colour and good texture. Juice was settled overnight, racked and fermented in stainless steel. After fermentation wines were left on the lees for 4 months before bottling. Two yeast strains were used to add even more complexity and depth to a textured palate.

Naturally the Rose will pair well with sushi, but it does not stop there; seafood paella, creamy salmon Alfredo or duck confit with a berry compote are to name a few.
