Description

Kleinood Farm presents:

Tamboerskloof (pierewaaiers)

pierewaaiers = dandies

This is a collection of rare Tamboerskloof wines inspired by the exceptional grapes that cross our path.

All the dandies are made in the Kleinood winery in the Kleinood way, but only occasionally, when the grapes insist, and in very small quantities.

Before release, each bottle is labelled by hand and each cork sealed with wax. Each bottle is nattily dressed in a recycled paper bag and tied at the top with a thinly cut repurposed tyre tube – pretty dandy.

“The charm of these wines lies in the quality of the grapes,
the soul of the places that they come from,
and the care of the hands that create them.”

inkommer = johnny-come-lately / outsider

We stumbled upon a special block of Grenache Blanc in the Piekenierskloof, and couldn’t resist making this wine.

Tasting Notes

This deep straw-coloured wine has a vibrant nose, starting with Persian lime, lemon zest and goose berries.

The elegance of honeysuckle adds a sweet perfumed finish.

The entry is sweet with mild acidity, that follows through to orange zest flavours.

All wines made on Kleinood are Vegan.

Winemaker’s Comments

The (inkommer) is a light golden-coloured wine with a vibrant nose starting with orange blossom. The intense tangerine and winter melon notes are simply mesmerising. The entry is dry, but a hint of sweetness adds weight to the mid palate and medium acidity which follows through to a well textured and lengthy flinty-melon finish.
