The newly released Tamboerskloof Syrah 2017
awarded 96 points at 2021 Decanter Wine Awards
It is with great excitement we wish to report a resounding 96 points awarded for our flagship Tamboerskloof Syrah 2017 in the recently announced 2021 Decanter Wine Awards results.
This wine can be described as a quintessential classic Syrah, with a twist. Featuring a medium intensity nose, starting with violet flowers and cinnamon spice and evolving into freshly crushed black pepper and red cherry, it’s clean complexity and subtle intricacies make for a delightful drinking experience.
Still youthful, it also shows smooth chocolate notes proving great potential for evolution in ageing. The palate is refreshing with a fine grained tannin adding weight to the mid-pallet – a juicy, yet elegant wine with good concentration.
It is exactly this juicy elegance of the wine which makes it super versatile with food pairing. However red meats, duck, ostrich fillet and venison stand out. Further to this, and this we feel strongly about, it shows at its very best next to a warm fire and in the company of good friends…
